WorryPad – Share your worries and get cheered up!
by Miguel on June 28, 2010

Worrypad is a website where people help each other feel better by sharing their worries, problems, or dilemmas. Help is provided by having other people cheering you up or giving you supportive advice through the commenting system.
The idea came from one of those list of things to help you reduce stress. One of the items was to write down your worries on a piece of paper.
The simple act of writing down your worries is an emotionally purging or cathartic act. Suddenly, your worries have found another place to live, on that piece of paper, outside your mind. So I tried and it worked!.
Of course, the problem or source of the worry is not going to disappear magically, but the worry, the obnoxious feeling manufactured by our mind is eliminated or at least diminished.
So with that in mind, I wanted to create an online version of the worry pad but with the additional advantage of letting other people cheer you up by means of a big CheerUp button or by encouraging you through comments.
So there you go, from now on every time something bothers you go to Worrypad share your worries and start feeling better immediately!
As is happens, reviews from other people capture the essence of the product with better prose than me.
Here is an excerpt of the review by KillerStartups:
Feeling a little blue lately? If that happens to be the (unfortunate) case, you must always remember that one is as sad as he wants to be. There are always ways for feeling better if you want to, and some are quite instant. This site is a case in point.
Entitled Worry Pad, it will empower you to share your woes with everybody and get cheered up.
Using the site is not really that hard at all. You have a box for inputting your worries, problems and dilemmas and then people are given the chance to cheer you by voting your submission up. It is as direct as that.
